Published Literary Works

Maranda embraced her gift of writing and an act of extreme courage when she published her first book, Troubled, in November 2015 by releasing to the world the details of her troubled life as a teenager. In her award-winning memoir, she expressed the loss of her father to domestic murder in 2004, the details of her molestation and sexual assault, her failed attempts of suicide, and a 10-year battle with depression. On July 16, 2017, in memory of her late grandmother Mildred Stoot; Maranda released her second book titled Renewed Strength: Steps to Becoming a S.U.R.V.I.V.O.R by introducing an active step of healing for each letter in survivor. In January 2020, Maranda began her journey of creating a publishing company in honor of her late grandmother, Mildred “Mil” Victorian Stoot, called Victorian Publishing. The official launch of this company will be on her birthday, May 28, 2020.

Randy Evans January 1, 1969 - March 14, 2004

ERandy Evans January 1, 1969 - March 14, 2004 Every year, Maranda Evans, daughter of Randy Evans commemorates his home-going anniversary, March 14th by asking people to wear purple on that day and posting a picture with the hashtag #PurpleForRandy.

The reasoning behind this hashtag trend is to honor Randy, bring awareness to domestic violence (which is the cause of his passing in 2004), and give his children a positive act to participate in on a difficult day.

This year, we have purchased custom #PurpleForRandy t-shirts.

Proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be split between The Troubled Movement's Randy Evans Survivor Fund and The Butterfly Project, a domestic violence survivor non-profit organization (partner of TTM) founded by Yoshiko Burney.

Show your support today by purchasing a shirt, wearing purple on March 14th, and bringing awareness to domestic violence.

From 2003 to 2004, there were 1,036,000 cases of domestic violence; 174,620 of which were males. Males experience domestic violence too. Resource: (https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/ipv9310.pdf)
